Doula Services for Long Island Families
I provide in-home postpartum doula support to families in the Nassau and Suffolk county areas for the first 12 weeks after your baby is born. Postpartum doula support services can last anywhere from a few visits to more than 3 months. We'll develop a customized plan for you.

Having a baby is hard work. Let me care for you while you care for your new baby.

Having a baby is a lot from healing, adjusting, and navigating all the "new" in parenthood. While it’s true that babies don't come with a manual, there is another truth you hear less often: moms need to be taken care of during the postpartum period, too.
Childbirth is one of the craziest, most beautiful experiences you can go through in life. However, births do not always go the way you plan them to, and even if they do, the process can be daunting, especially since it comes at a time when you may be physically exhausted. Having someone to help after the birth, having someone to talk to and someone to lean on can relieve stress and exhaustion and help you adjust to parenthood smoothly and confidently.
Doulas are the people who hold your hand through all the unknowns, stresses, and joys of bringing your newborn(s) home. My job is to support you during the postpartum as you become a parent.
What you get when you book with me

Customized Support Plan
Your doula services start with one prenatal visit so we can create a plan for support once your baby arrives. Whether you're looking for daytime or nighttime assistance, we'll build a flexible plan for your family customized with your needs in mind.

Education
Once your baby is born, I'll be there to share specialized knowledge and evidence-based information to help you navigate the "fourth trimester". I can answer questions about your physical and mental recovery, newborn care, feeding, and sleep. I can also help you connect with local and online resources as needed.

In-home support
I'll be your right-hand at home helping with the following:
-
light meal preparation so you stay hydrated and nourished
-
light household chores like dishes and laundry
-
caring for your baby while you take time to nap or shower
With a doula guiding you through a confident postpartum experience, you can enjoy this special season with your family!
FAQs
Will my partner feel replaced by a doula?
Doulas are in no way meant to take on the same role as your partner. Your partner knows you, your comforts, your emotions, and what you need better than anyone. Doulas come with knowledge about postpartum and newborn care that your partner may not have and help them find the best way to apply that knowledge to you. We love to work with partners, giving them tips for comfort measures and empowering them to be a part of the journey.
How long does a postpartum doula stay with a family?
Typically we work with families during the "Fourth Trimester" (the first 12 weeks postpartum). But the length of the contract is up to you. It can be as short as 2 weeks or as long as 12 weeks.
